Merlin and Arthur reclist

A

  • A Binding Contract In a society where people with magic are considered to be dangerous, are labelled as freaks, and have their powers cut off from them, Merlin does whatever he can to survive the hard life he’s faced with. When he’s in desperate need of money, Merlin’s landlord Aredian arranges and offers a magically binding contract in which Merlin is to become a ‘companion’ to Uther Pendragon’s son, Arthur. And when Merlin feels compelled to accept it, he never would have imagined that one man could change his life so completely.
  • A Long Way to Go Before We Are Truly Devine Gauis takes an exiled prince Arthur to a village he once visited, Ealdor.
  • Absence, Self from Self Sometimes the truth is hard to take. Merlin and Arthur, canon-era, a few months after the end of Series 3.
  • Accept No Substitutes It was extraordinary, Merlin reflected as he pounded down the corridor toward the Great Hall, how often the destiny the Great Dragon constantly spoke of entailed saving Arthur from beautiful women.
  • Accidental Memory in the Case of Death Tony O doesn't befriend losers.
  • The Accidental Seduction Arthur's a bit dim and a prank goes horribly awry, but in the end this works out to the benefit of all involved.
  • All I Want for Christmas is You Arthur is not amused when his (probably insane) father decides to hold a Secret Santa exchange for the entirety of Pendragon Corporation. He's even less amused (and more than a bit panicky) when he draws Merlin's name.
  • An Arse is An Arse, Of Course, Of Course Merlin accidentally walks in on one of Prince Arthur's...indiscretions.
  • An Unshakeable Desire Arthur meets a boy in the rain. A dirty, poor, insolent peasant. A common whore. But Arthur can't stop thinking about him.
  • Anyone Can Tell Arthur and Merlin have a casual sex-only relationship per Arthur’s request. But, once Merlin breaks it off to pursue something more meaningful, Arthur realizes that he has fallen in love with Merlin.
  • Arcane Asylum Uther is the notorious warden of a prison for magic users. When Nimeuh frames Arthur for a magical crime, he's sent down for it. Being pretty, blonde and the hated warden's son makes him a prime target and everyone wants to make him their prison bitch. Luckily he catches the eye of mysterious topdog!Merlin who takes him under his wing
  • At Our Best When It's From the Hips Merlin goes to a brothel to get rid of that virginity thing and runs into Arthur. From there on, it's all madness.
  • August Merlin looked uncertainly to Arthur. “Have you ever made bread?” he asked. / “How hard could it be?” Arthur said.

B

  • Belong to the Living  A sorceress's spell brings Ygraine back from the dead with no memory of what's happened in the years between. | When the queen is brought back, all of Merlin's secrets start coming out.
  • The Beltane Cycle There is a story that is not told in Ealdor anymore, not for many years now, a story about Beltane Eve.
  • Bucket Up, All For Luck Merlin didn’t really expect it to take five Knights, two old men, a woman and a horseshoe for his plan to work, but then again the extent of his plan had been more along the lines of an adamant  ‘I’m not in love with Prince Prat (except, really, I am)’ than an actual plan.
  • Burning for Burning "This is what you need to do," Arthur says, and tightens his lips, staring hard at the cabinet behind Merlin. It's his battle face, the face he makes right before he absolutely devastates someone, when he's thinking over how to do it most efficiently. "You need to do it back to him."
  • But Only Say the Word and I Shall And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

C

  • Camelot's Sweethearts Arthur is a film star, Merlin is his personal assistant who might, possibly be head over heels in love with him. However, Arthur’s more interested in his ex, Morgana, and then the mysterious Sophia to notice… Oh, and Will is awesome.
  • Champagne From A Paper Cup is Never Quite the Same Modern AU with magic. Arthur is a professional footballer on the verge of making history. Merlin is a medical student with special powers who's just been hired to work for Arthur's club. You know the rest.
  • Chaste Businessman Arthur Pendragon becomes sexually obsessed with an intern at his company, 15 year old Merlin.
  • Communications in Binary Modern!AU, MA are roommates.
  • Coming of Age "An orgy. The celebrations for Arthur's 21st birthday were a three-day orgy."
  • The Crown of the Summer Court "The king sent me to get you," Merlin said, with a tone that implied strongly that he wasn't rolling his eyes where Arthur could see, but just wait until his back was turned. "He said you're to get changed into formal clothes and meet him in the Great Hall, there's a delegation coming from the Summer Court."

D

  • Deep As the Wine Dark Sea The wind shifts, blowing freshly through Merlin’s hair. He rises, craning his head to the forest behind him, and just… knows. He knows. This is the day Arthur will be with him again.
  • Defenders of the Realm Merlin and Arthur have to save England and the world from being overtaken by a crazy sorcerer who wants to bring back Albion.
  • Deny thy Father When Arthur refuses to marry the woman his father has picked out for him, he loses everything; job, his status and the only life he's ever known. With the help of his estranged step-sister and a few odd new friends, will Arthur be able to stand on his own two feet and finally find what he never thought he could have?
  • Despoiled Of all the many things Merlin had ever worried about getting arrested for, despoiling the king's ward hadn't been one of them.
  • Destiny that Darkly Hides Us It's 1913, the practice of homosexuality is unlawful, so is the practice of magic. When Arthur Pendragon and Merlin Emrys meet as Cambridge undergrads, they're both hungry for a real and true connection without secrets. For a short time they believe they may have found it. But war breaks out and separates them, and it seems unlikely that they will meet again. After all, what are the odds?
  • Drastically Redefining Protocol In which Prince Arthur meets Merlin and all hell promptly breaks lose.
  • Drugstore Flowers Merlin starts to receive lovely gifts (and less-lovely flowers) from a secret admirer.

E

  • Even the Best of Friends Modern day AU about the boys being stupidly, obliviously in love with each other. In which Merlin still ends up being Arthur's manservant, somehow (he does his laundry), and Arthur is an arrogant prat. What else is new?

F

  • Favorite Arthur and Merlin get quite drunk, and do things they swear never to do again.
  • Finding Home When Gaius retires, a new physician takes over, one that quickly kicks Merlin out of his room and takes it for himself, Arthur finds Merlin sleeping in the stables..and it's winter.
  • Fools of Us All Merlin accidentally makes everybody in Camelot fall in love with him. Everybody except Arthur, that is.
  • A Fortunate Fall Single father Arthur Pendragon, at the end of his rope, finds a miracle in the form of a young cashier boy at the local convenience store. As for Merlin, he's not quite sure about what to make of his new job as an au pair for the wealthiest man in town; but he does know that his employer has more than a few skeletons in his closet.
  • The Future Soon Arthur sees a vision of himself and Merlin married and happy, but they can barely stand each other. They both start doing everything they can to avoid it happening.

G

  • Gibraltar May Tumble  Merlin's life in London is a bit of a mess: his career is trapped somewhere between student and professional, his love life is trapped in a relationship gone sour, and most days he feels physically trapped in the tiny, shared flat he can't afford to move out of—until an unexpected opportunity sends him packing for the coast. There, he meets someone who might be in a even worse fix than he is: Arthur, a Victorian-era sea captain who's trapped, a bit literally, between life and death, and who refuses to leave the house he died in over a hundred years ago.
  • The Gift Boy King Arthur is presented with a gift that will tempt him far beyond anything he has ever experienced before. (Or the one where Merlin's a boy Druid, shamelessly wants Arthur's cock and Arthur just sort of freaks out all over the place. Also, there are orgasms.)
  • The Good Times Are Killing Me  In which the boys pretend to still be together for Christmas (and there is more than one kind of charade).
  • Green Chest Monster Arthur is jealous, really jealous.
  • Greensleeves Darkish Tudor AU where Merlin is a little bit of an Anne Boleyn, Arthur is a very sane version of Henry VIII and magic vaguely resembles Protestantism. In a Tudor-like court betrayal reigns supreme and plots are hatched.

  • Keep Calm and Carry On  How Arthur Pendragon, Director of Communications for Prime Minister Gaius, and his assistant, Merlin Emrys, fell in love - a story in goldfish, cats, webcomics, cups of tea, and sharpies.
  • The King of Queens' Merlin has always dreamed of going to Cambridge University and is thrilled to win a place at Queens’ College. Whilst there he falls hopelessly in love with the JCR President, drinking society President, Lacrosse captain and all-round popular guy Arthur Pendragon. Arthur takes him under his wing until Merlin stands to be LGBT Rep on the JCR and Arthur realises that Merlin likes boys. Full of Cambridge slang, UST, Arthur being a knobhead with no knob, and eventual happy ending. I promise.
  • The Knights Have a Thousand Eyes  In which Arthur attempts to teach his knights, his knights attempt to woo Merlin and Arthur is definitely not jealous....

L

  • Leaving Only Bells of Lightning Arthur is king, and Merlin is avoiding him. Also, it's raining.
  • Light of Arthur An epic tale of gods and man, destiny and choices, darkness and light, and eternal love that's fixed as the stars to the celestial sphere.
  • Looking at You, Looking at Me Arthur can't let go. Merlin forgets
  • Lord Drake's Bequest "To my great-nephew Arthur I bequeath Tintagel Distribution, wholly and without reserve, save for one condition. You must marry, and stay married, for a period of no less than six months. You're a wonderful businessman Arthur, but a full life needs love and companionship, not just a string of affairs. Settle down young Arthur, and your life will be the richer for it."
  • The Lure Would Prove Too Much In which Arthur fucks Merlin for a hazing ritual (and then there is talk about wallpaper).

M

  • Missed Connections This is a self described glory-hole romantic comedy. It is an Modern-AU. There is sex, crack-comedy, mild drug use, magic shenanigans, cursing and some pretty epic true love. You've been warned

N

  • Natural Selection In which Arthur goes on blind dates, Merlin is his waiter, and everyone takes a ride on the crazy train.
  • The New Doctor Luddite AU. Nottingham, 1812. Arthur Pendragon is the son of the richest Mill-Owner in town and a little bit of a spoilt prat. He has to face unrest among the workers, his father's unrelenting attitude towards them, which he knows might cause trouble since the Luddite movement has made itself heard, and his inexplicable interest in young Doctor Emrys.
  • Not Another Cinderella  In which Arthur may be gay, Merlin is a little magical, and a creepy inn is creepy. and a sweater wearing cat is full of slash.
  • Not In This Land Alone Modern AU. When Merlin Emrys gets a summer job at Buckingham Palace, he doesn't expect to even meet King Arthur, let alone become involved in protecting him from a plot to overthrow the monarchy.
  • Notting Hill Can the most famous film star in the world fall for just an ordinary (well, kind of) guy?
  • Now I Will Unsettle the Ground Beneath You Merlin's dreams have always fuelled his art, but they've always been abstract and removed from reality. Soon after he meets Gwaine, he starts to see vivid images of a past full of death and magic and love for a King who was ripped from him. Things only escalate further when he spends a weekend in the country with Gwaine and meets his group of friends, which includes aristocrat and It Boy, Arthur Pendragon. Merlin soon realises that no matter how hard you try, one thing is certain, you can't fuck with destiny.

O
P

  • The Pendragon Guide to Not to Date Modern day student AU. Still set in Britain. Morgana sends Arthur on some blind dates that don’t go quite according to plan
  • Personal Property of the Court Magician (Do Not Borrow) Melin labels what's his.
  • Pianos are Made for Falling Arthur is a world class violinist, trapped in Sydney, Australia, by his fear of flying. In the wake of a mediocre concert, vicious critics and with barely a month to go before his next (hopefully reputation-saving) recital, Arthur is almost at breaking point. When his accompanist, Morgana, breaks her wrist in a car accident, Arthur is more or less doomed. And the story begins, when the Maestro at the conservatoire, Gaius Stresemann, recommends his protege Merlin Emrys to step in. Merlin, who plays by ear, as he pleases and really just wants to be a kindergarten teacher.
  • Possibly Maybe I'm Falling for You Merlin walks into his favorite coffee shop one morning to find the Prince of Wales behind the till. His life only gets more surreal from there.

Q
R

  • Resolution Rush As a New Year's Resolution, Merlin and Gwen set forth on a year long journey to have one new experience per month. Along the way, they meet Arthur, Lance, Leon and Morgana.
  • Reward System Each month the knights of Camelot stage a mock tournament as part of their training. Merlin is rather surprised by the reward Prince Arthur offers to the winner.

S

  • So Are They All, All Honourable Men Considering Arthur's future wife will be chosen less for compatibility than for her political value, Merlin may be the only marriage he'll have that won't end in bloodshed or a great deal of fortifying wine.
  • The Sorcerer and the King Merlin's death is only the beginning; with no-one to protect the kingdom, Camelot falls to an enemy sorcerer and Arthur is forced to serve in the court that he once ruled. When an escape attempt goes horribly wrong, Arthur is rescued by someone he never expected to see again -- and it's their destiny to put things right.
  • The Student Prince A Modern day Merlin AU set at the University of St Andrews, featuring teetotal kickboxers, secret wizards, magnificent bodyguards of various genders, irate fairies, imprisoned dragons, crumbling gothic architecture, arrogant princes, adorable engineering students, stolen gold, magical doorways, attempted assassination, drunken students, shaving foam fights, embarrassing mornings after, The Hammer Dance, duty, responsibility, friendship and true love...

T

  • That Dust is Gonna Settle Your Nerves Arthur gets wounded in an encounter with a siren and makes Merlin's life even more difficult than ever.
  • Timshel Merlin is definitely supposed to work for Arthur, but spends most of his time mocking Arthur's dress sense, berating him via IM with Morgana, sending Gwen capslock-filled emails about him and, most of all, trying not to fall in love with the shiny-shoed ponce. Arthur, meanwhile, is definitely supposed to be taking over his father's company some day, but instead spends most of his time scowling at Merlin, making lists about him, trying to find excuses to fire him and, most of all, trying to pretend he is totally not head-over-heels for the jumped up little upstart. Someone's got to make some difficult choices eventually, and this can only lead to one thing: angst. Or hilarity. Or, embarrassingly enough, self-discovery.
  • Tis a Pity He's a Whore Arthur is a rich business man - Merlin is the down-on-his-luck hooker he picks up almost by accident one night. Things Happen between them - and not just the things Arthur paid for.
  • Touch Me (Not) In which Merlin is reluctantly pure, Arthur is unfairly tempting, and the Great Dragon sits back with popcorn to watch.
  • Tournament of Magicks Merlin is invited to compete in a tournament of magic. Sure, he'd like to become the champion of all Albion, but first he has to get past giant creatures, a seductive sorceress, and the crown prince of Camelot.
  • Two Weeks Notice Arthur is a prattish Executive VP of the Pendragon Corporation with a disturbingly non-ironic love of Demotivational posters. Merlin is a tree-hugging barista with a "magic" tongue. Morgana's a peeping Tom and her breasts have superpowers. Gwen and Lancelot get married. Owain is the company bicycle. Arthur attempts to steal Merlin's affections from Will through epic DDR combat. Merlin gets drunk a lot. There is a pillow fight, and a helicopter ride, and rooftop confessions, and Arthur decides Merlin really is his destiny, whether he likes it or not.

  • Until We Get It RIght All the great heroes of love and war are fondly remembered, but only the best of them get second chances.

  • Warmth Within There is warmth to be found, even on the coldest, darkest days.
  • We're a Storm in Somebody Else's Teacup Modern AU; Merlin goes to a group of people with the same type of magical abilities as he does and makes friends with Morgana.
  • Where the Hurt Is  They were childhood/teenage sweethearts but Arthur's family moved away (because Uther detested Merlin but Arthur doesn't know this) and they promise to write. After Uther's death Arthur finds all the letters from Merlin he never received. All the time he thought Merlin had forgotten him. Arthur seeks him out.
  • Why Love Matters Arthur needs help overcoming issues with physical intimacy in order to clinch a business deal with some demonstrative Italians. Merlin, his assistant, suggests that he attends a 'cuddle workshop’ to get him over his fears.
  • Wicked Game  Arthur's the King of Camelot…nightclub. He can pick and choose who he wants, and he does – often – no promises and absolutely no repeats. The night he chooses Merlin might just be his undoing.
  • World Enough and Time Arthur had had it all figured out. And then Merlin shot him in Beijing.
  • (The World Is Changed) Because You Are Made of Ivory and Gold In which Arthur gives Merlin a ring (but no one's on their knees).
  • Wounded In the Line of Duty Arthur returns from months away at war and Merlin is very pleased to see him, if you know what I mean

  • 8x12x8 Uther blamed Arthur for Igraine's death but couldn't bring himself to kill him. Instead he keeps him locked up because Arthur looks just like Igraine and he can't bare to look at him. Uther remarries and has other kids so the heir issue isn't a problem. Merlin comes to Camelot and he accidentally comes across the place where Arthur is locked away. They talk through the door and eventually end up falling for each other.
